I didn't think I would finish this! I am feeling very proud of myself- and exhausted! I can't say which exercise was my favorite because I still don't feel that I know enough about some of the things I have learned and I want to go back and explore them some more. Thank you for opening my eyes to technology that I never even knew was out there. There are so many useful tools that I am anxious to use, personally and professionally. Very interesting stuff!

This exercise didn't really interest me that much. I like the podcasts with the videos better. I chose this podcast,http://cuisinefromspain.libsyn.com/index.php?post_id=159438, because my husbands family comes from Spain and I like trying to learn new recipes and foods from that culture.

This is really fun video to watch from the TV show Scrubs set to the song Diner by a great songwriter, Martin Sexton. The video is silly and is a nice break in the monotony of a quiet Saturday at the reference desk (Memorial Day Weekend-and boy does it look beautiful outside!!!).

This exercise was really neat! I use pandora all the time and I love it. I really liked the Events winners. There are a lot of winners that I would like to use.

I really found these perspectives very interesting and on the mark. Libraries need to evolve to meet the patrons' needs and wants. I read Away From Icebergs, Into a New World of Librarianship, and To a Temporary Place in Time.

I don't know that I would use this very often. I don't really like to use the "favorites" thing. For people that use the same sites on a regular basis, I guess it could be useful, but I don't think it would work for me. I like the idea that you could use it from any computer you go on because I know a lot of people use different computers every day, especially patrons at the library (they rarely get the same computer twice), so this would be a benefit to them.

I liked the Bloglines the best. It was really easy to figure out. I don't know that I would use it personally but it is a great tool.

I wasn't really interested in this activity. It seemed to me that most of the popular blogs were very "techie". No offense to anyone, it is just that I am not very "techie" nor am I that into gadgets, so... I did get a chuckle or two watching some of the popular videos!

This is a fun one. This is one I can definitely use! It is certainly a great way to organize things. I can use this one with the teens too and I can use it to keep my softball team organized!!

I like this exercise. I think I would find these programs very useful, personally and professionally. I work in YA so I think that it would be fun to "invite people as collaborators". I could certainly use this with the teens when I am working on programs and such (they probably know more than I do when it comes to this stuff).

NetLibrary and WorldCat

Both of these sites are really easy to navigate. How ironic that we, at the reference desk in Brick, were just discussing NetLibrary this morning because there was an article in the NY Times about this site and ebooks, and then it ends up being a discovery exercise! I searched for a Martin Sexton cd on the WorldCat site and found that the closest library that has a copy is Mercer. For anyone who likes a little jazzy, folky music, check this guy out-he is amazing!

This is pretty neat. I need to explore it more but I am finding that it is really easy to use. Finally, something I understand! I didn't find any discussions on the books I added, but some of the books I added are pretty popular.

I am simply amazed with all the new technology! I am also terrified of what my 1 and 3 year olds are going to have access too in the very near future! I finally played the WII Thursday night. It's incredible how advanced these video games are. I lost most of the games I played, probably because I was playing against teenagers who thought I was crazy for never have playing the game before. I did win a bowling match!

I guess this is why they call it a challenge! I didn't think I was this computer illiterate until I got to this step. I still don't really understand what I am doing but I guess I will just have to go back and go through the tutorials again. I hope the rest of you are having an easier time. I can't even say what I am having the most difficulty with but I hope that when I go back over it, something will 'click'!

This picture I absolutely love. It reminds me of the movie "On Golden Pond" which is one of my favorites. Definitely a place I would love to have a fishing cabin!

I had a really hard time with this challenge, primarily when I was trying to add the image to my post. I just couldn't figure it out! I kept getting messages from Google, like it was trying to block me from doing anything. Congrats to those who were able to figure it out!

The 7 1/2 steps seem pretty easy. I guess the hardest one for me would be the technology step. I never seem to really touch the computer unless I am at work.
